Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Welcome to the Collaborative Nursing program! We're thrilled to have you here. To kick things off, don't miss the chance to

General orientation for first-year students

The program will be holding a general orientation for nursing students during your first NURS1003 class on Sept 8 and Sept

  1. Details will be shared on the NURS1003 Canvas page, as well as the Nursing Student Community (NSC) Instagram account.

Pre-placement Requirements

Experiential learning is a key component of our nursing program and students will participate in practicum placements all four years of their program. To be eligible for clinical experiences, students MUST meet specific requirements for safe practice within established timelines.

 These pre-placement requirements include, but are not limited to:

 Proof of immunizations Vulnerable sector check N95 mask fit

CPR certification

Other required training

We strongly encourage you to begin this process immediately as it can take several weeks to months to collect and complete this information.

If you will require in-class and/or practicum accommodation(s) due to a disability or medical condition, please visit Student

Accessibility Services (SAS) for more information. Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure any required accommodations are in place before the start of placement. We recommend speaking with SAS at least 1 term prior to the placement start.
