RPN to BScN Advanced Entry Program
Welcome to the collaborative nursing program – we’re thrilled to have you here!
Please take a moment to review the information outlined on this website to get you started on your nursing journey. We also recommend you review the RPN to BScN Advanced Entry Program registration map to familiarize yourself with the courses you will be taking.
Pre-Practicum Requirements
Experiential learning is a key component of our nursing programs. Students will participate in practicum placements in all four years of their program. To be eligible for clinical experiences, students MUST meet specific requirements for safe practice within established timelines. These requirements include, but are not limited to: proof of immunizations, vulnerable sector check, N95 mask fit, CPR certification, proof of CNO registration, as well as various certifications and forms. Students can find more detailed information on each requirement in the Practicum section of this website as well as in the FHS -Nursing Practicum course in our learning management system (LMS). New students will be added to this course as we get confirmation of acceptances. Students are strongly encouraged to begin the process of meeting these requirements immediately as it can take several weeks to months to collect and complete this information.
If you will require in-class and/or practicum accommodation(s) due to a disability or medical condition, please visit Student Accessibility Services (SAS) for more information. Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to ensure any required accommodations are in place before the start of placement. We recommend speaking with SAS at least 1 term prior to the placement start.
Required Supplies
A list of the required supplies for both practicum and lab experiences is available on our website. Please visit the Campus Store for information on required textbooks and course materials.
