Is the Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) (Honours) program the right one for me?
Students who a BHSc (Hons) degree may have long-term goals that involve either careers within the health-care system or professional programs such as:

  • Audiology;
  • Law;
  • Medicine;
  • Occupational Therapy;
  • Physical Therapy; and
  • Speech Pathology.

BHSc graduates may also enter programs in:

  • Chiropractic;
  • Homeopathic medicine; and
  • Naturopathic medicine. 

Graduates may also decide to enter the workforce directly out of this program.

How is the Comprehensive program different than the Public Health, Human Health Science and Kinesiology majors?
BHSc (Hons) Comprehensive program is designed for students who wish to work in the health sector but are not prepared to choose a specific professional credential.

What health professions will BHSc (Hons) program prepare me for?
Through consultation with an academic advisor, you can acquire the necessary prerequisites to apply to a variety of professional programs such as:

  • Audiology;
  • Chiropractic
  • Dentistry;
  • Medicine;

  • Occupational therapy; and
  • Speech-language pathology.

What direct entry careers will the BHSc (Hons) program prepare me for?
The BHSc (Hons) program prepares graduates for a future in a variety of health-care disciplines including Health and Information Management (HIM). Students in HIM are trained to work with large health-care databases including:

  • Consulting;
  • Developing;
  • Implementing; and
  • Updating.

Students in our Comprehensive program may seek employment in health-care sectors that require specific professional credential such as:

  • Fundraising;
  • Health promotion and education;
  • Health software developer; 
  • Hospitals;
  • Insurance industry;
  • Occupational Health and Safety; 
  • Private health and Wellness clubs;
  • Public health agencies; and
