Pathways
Two pathways allow Ontario Tech Kinesiology students shorter training as a chiropractor or massage therapist.
CMCC pathway:
An agreement between Ontario Tech University and the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) holds specific places for Ontario Tech students. Conditional on passing an interview and receiving an offer from CMCC, Pathway students can attend CMCC after their third year and earn their Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in Kinesiology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in seven years, instead of eight.
Application Process:
Students will apply to the pathway in the winter (or spring) of year 1, and will be assessed following the completing of the term, with decisions communicated in Summer.
In order to be admitted to the CMCC Academic Pathway, students must have completed:
• Their first year in the kinesiology program (10 courses),
• With no failed or "D" courses, and
• A minimum recommended cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (note: students who are close to 3.0 may be admitted provisionally but must attain a 3.0 by the end of year 2 to stay in the pathway).
Acceptance to the pathways does not guarantee admissions to CMCC.
For those admitted to the pathway will receive information via email to formally apply to CMCC in year 2 (typically December) with transcript submissions and admissions interviews to follow.
